IND vs AUS 5th Test: Virat Kohli gets lifeline but fails again, Anushka Sharma's reaction goes viral

It seems Virat Kohli has developed a tendency to edge deliveries around the fourth or fifth stump and get out. He has been dismissed in this manner throughout the entire 5-match Test series against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. In the 5th Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Kohli was dismissed after scoring just 17 runs off 69 balls.

Interestingly, the 69 balls he faced mark the longest innings of his Test career without him smashing a boundary. What's even more frustrating is that he had been given a lifeline by the third umpire shortly after coming in to bat.

What happened on the 1st ball?

Soon after Kohli came to bat, he edged the ball and the fielder at second slip claimed to have scooped the ball to gully. Once again, a loose push outside off had Kohli seemingly set to walk back on the very first delivery. However, the third umpire intervened, suspecting that the ball might have touched the ground before being scooped up. "I have the ball touching the ground," the third umpire declared.

While the Aussies were unhappy with the decision, and debate about it continues on social media, Kohli undeniably received a lifeline. However, despite not getting out on a golden duck, it didn't take long for him to be dismissed in a similar manner. Fans, it seems, are growing increasingly frustrated with his repeated mode of dismissal.

Soon after Kohli was dismissed, the camera panned towards his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. Her expression of disappointment, frustration, and concern was unmistakable. Kohli's struggles

For Virat Kohli, the Sydney Test was more than just another match. With India's hopes in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy hanging by a thread, Kohli's form was under intense scrutiny. Despite his brilliant century in the series opener in Perth, his subsequent performances had been underwhelming.
