Set 175 to win, Sachin was batting on a whole new level as he punished the bowling mercilessly. The Aussies watched in awe as the runs flowed from and the crowd knew a master was at work.
Sachin was in good touch and he was steering the Men in Blue towards a win. He reached his hundred and then went on to make 150.

With the score on 332/6, Sachin perished for 175. The chase faltered from there as India managed 347 to lose by 3 runs.
It was a great display of batsmanship by Sachin, but Australia the team was too much for him to win it singlehandedly. The loss would be a crucial factor in deciding the series in the long run.
