Rayudu played for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2023 finals, the year when CSK won. On the other hand, Dhawan played his last IPL match in 2024. Additionally, the duo have been India's teammates in senior and youth-level cricket.
Not only this, but the duo were also a part of India's squad in the 2004 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Well, while speaking with Aakash Chopra and Rayudu, Dhawan narrated a hilarious story about Rayudu that left the internet in splits.

Rayudu was absent from the match between India and Pakistan in the semi-finals when India lost to Pakistan. He was banned from the game after breaching the ICC Code of Conduct in an earlier fixture and received a one-match ban.
He was reported for misconduct and excessive time-wasting. Talking about the same on Star Sports, Dhawan revealed that Ambati Rayudu had a big name in U19, and he was their captain in the U19 World Cup. But he got banned there also, just ahead of the semi-final, and they lost.

Dhawan's story leaves Aakash Chopra and Rayudu laughing
Reacting to Shikhar Dhawan's story, both Aakash Chopra and Rayudu couldn't stop their laughter; however, Rayudu initially looked a bit annoyed by the statement.
Moreover, Dhawan's joke can also be interpreted as a reminder of Rayudu's infamous BCCI ban back in 2007, when he played at the rebel ICL. Officially, it wasn't approved by the BCCI, and a warning was also issued to all the players not to participate in the league.

He was even banned by the BCCI when he played for the Hyderabad Heroes in the year 2007 to 2008. Meanwhile, in 2009, BCCI granted relief to 79 players, including Rayudu.
