Here's All You Need To Know About The 2020 World T20 Which Will Be Held In Australia
Are you ready for the thrill?
Next year the cricket carnival will move its caravan to the beautiful Australia as the country will host the T20 World Cup.
It will be the seventh edition of the tournament, and it promises to be another cracker of a contest between bat and ball. Overall 16 teams will be fighting to be crowned champions of the shortest format of the game.
The tournament takes place between 18 October to 15 November.
The qualifiers for the tournament recently took place, which were held to determine the six teams that would join the already qualified nine teams. And it was the Netherlands, Papua New Guinea, Ireland, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman, who confirmed their participation at next year's tournament.

The final 16 are now set. It will be the West Indies who will be defending the title. They won it in 2016 after beating England in a thriller at Eden Gardens.
After the inaugural tournament in 2007, next edition will be the seventh of the tournament. So far, five different countries have won the T20 World Cup.

Format
In the new format implemented by the ICC, the tournament will have an initial two groups (A and B) which will be spearheaded by Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Papua New Guinea, Ireland, and Oman will join Sri Lanka in Group A while Netherlands, Namibia, and Scotland will join Bangladesh in Group B.
The highest-placed team in Group A and the second-placed team in Group B will head into Group 1 of the Super 12s with Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand, and West Indies.

Top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals.
Venues
The tournament which will go on for at least a month will be played across seventh different venues. The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the final, while Adelaide Oval and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) will host the two semifinals.

Bellerive Oval in Hobart will host eight games. MCG will host seven, including India's games against the runner up from Group A, and also the game against England.
Sydney Cricket Ground will be host to seven games, Adelaide Oval will also see seven matches played, while Perth Stadium and Kardinia Park will host six games each. The Gabba in Brisbane has been allotted four games.
