IPL 2025: RCB suffer another home loss despite Tim David¡¯s effort; fans call Nehal Wadhera ¡®a master at work¡¯
PBKS defeated RCB by five wickets in a rain-shortened IPL 2025 match. Tim David¡¯s 50 helped RCB post 95/9, but Nehal Wadhera¡¯s calm under pressure secured the chase. Fans hailed him as ¡°pure class¡± as PBKS climbed to second in the points table.

It was a rain-hit evening in the IPL 2025 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS), but the game was anything but damp. In a low-scoring thriller, PBKS chased down a target of 96 with five wickets to spare, owing to Nehal Wadhera¡¯s calm knock under pressure and Marcus Stoinis¡¯ winning shot. The match swung back and forth as both sides battled to gain control, but PBKS held their nerves in the final overs to notch an important win.
RCB¡¯s early struggles despite Tim David¡¯s blitz
Batting first after a delayed toss due to rain, RCB were in trouble from the start. The top order collapsed with eight of their batters failing to reach double figures. Rajat Patidar¡¯s 23 was the only support for Tim David, who remained unbeaten on 50. His aggressive finish, including 21 runs in the last over bowled by Harpreet Brar, gave RCB a fighting total of 95/9.
PBKS bowlers maintain pressure
PBKS bowlers made full use of the pitch. Marco Jansen, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Harpreet Brar all took two wickets each. They managed to restrict RCB throughout the innings despite Tim David¡¯s late surge. Their collective effort ensured RCB couldn¡¯t take control at any point during their innings.
Nehal Wadhera anchors PBKS chase
In reply, PBKS were also under pressure, losing four wickets in a chase of just 96. However, Nehal Wadhera held the innings together with a composed knock. Shashank¡¯s dismissal added tension, but Wadhera accelerated with a flurry of boundaries and smashed Suyash for 15 runs in an over to swing momentum. Stoinis eventually sealed the win with the final blow. With this victory, PBKS moved up to second in the points table, while RCB remained without a home win.
