Jitu Rai was born in Sankhusawa, Nepal and shifted to India in 2006 after the death of his father.
2. Naik-Subedar in the Indian Army
In 2006, Jitu joined the Indian Army. He is currently Naik-Subedar in the 11 Gurkha Regiment.

Jitu Rai is the only shooter to win Commonwealth and Asian Games double gold.
4. Created Commonwealth Games Record in 2014
At the 2014 Glasgow games, Jitu Rai won with 562 points and created Commonwealth record in the 50m Men¡¯s Pistol Final.

Jitu¡¯s three brothers work in the foreign countries while his mother lives in his native village in Nepal and cultivates rice. ¡°I send my mother some money every month to make life easier for her," said Rai whose father was a farmer who cultivated paddy and corn,¡± Rai told TOI in one of his interviews.
