India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin chose to be safe amid public Jallikattu protests after he took to public transport to reach home after landing at the Chennai airport. The metro rail proved to be a boon for commuters and office goers on Monday as people staged public protests on the streets in support of the traditional festival of 'Jallikattu'. Ashwin's metro ride resulted in fellow commuters taking selfies with him before he de-boarded the train at Ashok Nagar metro station. He was safely escorted by the Chennai airport police.

The people of Tamil Nadu have led by example. Let vested interests not take advantage. Do your bit please.
Other sports stars from the region like former chess world champion Viswanathan Anand has supported the cause of 'Jallikattu'.
Ashwin, meanwhile, has been rested from the three-T20I series against England along with Ravindra Jadeja citing the workload they'll have to put in the five Tests India are scheduled to play, one against Bangladesh and four against Australia.
