In March alone, Iyer scored 172 runs in three ODIs, averaging 57.33 with a strike rate of 77.47. He built vital partnerships, including a composed 45 against Australia in the semi-final and a crucial 48 in the final against New Zealand. According to the ICC, ¡°his ability to anchor the innings and build partnerships was instrumental in crunch moments,¡± showing how his presence stabilized the middle order when it mattered most.
Rachin and Duffy also in the mix
New Zealand¡¯s Rachin Ravindra put up stiff competition with 263 runs in just four games, averaging 65.75 and scoring two centuries. His best knock came in the semi-final against South Africa, where he scored 108 and shared a 164-run stand with Kane Williamson. He also chipped in with the ball, picking up a wicket in each of the three ODIs he played in March. Jacob Duffy earned his spot after grabbing 13 wickets in a T20I series against Pakistan, maintaining a brilliant rate of 6.17.
