Kohli Clarifies That He's Still Friends With Most Aussie Cricketers And Just Won't Talk To A Couple Of Players
Kohli had made some harsh comments on ending friendship with Australian players after the series.
Virat Kohli swore he would never befriend an Australian cricketer after the fractious Test series. Not many in the cricket community were impressed. The Australian media ¡ª and Kohli gives them a damn ¡ª called him classless and egomaniac.

It was thought Kohli¡¯s declaration of his spiteful relationship with everything that is Australian didn¡¯t befit his stature and was highly unbecoming of a captain.
So Kohli finally softened his stance, taking to his official Twitter account to clarify he didn¡¯t mean to generalise. ¡°My answer at the post match conference has been blown way out of proportion,¡± Kohli posted on his official Twitter account. ¡°I did not categorically say the whole Australian team but only a couple of individuals. I continue to be in good terms with the few guys I know & who I¡¯ve played with at RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) & that doesn¡¯t change.¡±

The IPL brings about an intermingling of cricketers across the globe. Kohli led RCB to the final last year with Australian players such as Mitchell Starc, Shane Watson and Travis Head. While Starc will not join RCB for the upcoming season starting April 5, Watson and Head will side with Kohli in the Indian club.

Smith sidestepped the spat as he concentrated on leading the Rising Pune Supergiants. When told about Kohli¡¯s clarification, Smith said, ¡°That is for Virat to answer. I don¡¯t know if I am one of those couple of players Virat was hinting at in his tweet.¡±
¡°For me the series is done and dusted and India have outplayed us. I am now ready to lead a new bunch of team at the Pune Supergiants.¡±

Smith¡¯s IPL teammate Ajinkya Rahane also called for the hatchet to be buried. ¡°What happens on the ground stays on it. Our focus is on IPL,¡± said Rahane.
