India were comprehensively beaten by West Indies in the second T20 as the visitors leveled the series 1-1.
Much before the series, all the talk was about wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant, and he was in focus again. Having been out of form and struggling with both bat and glove, the Delhi native had another howler behind the stumps.
While Virat Kohli has backed the 22 year-old and also urged the fans before the series to get behind him, he is still getting a rough treatment from the Indian fans. After another mistake, the crowd made their feelings well known in the second game.
Chasing 171 to win, West Indies openers made a cautious start. But the incident in the fifth over is where it all started.
On the fourth ball of the over, Pant failed to hold on to an edge from Evin Lewis. He had caught the ball but it popped out of his hand after he landed on the ground. And as soon as that happened, the crowd started chanting Dhoni¡¯s name, much to Kohli¡¯s surprise. Kohli then decided to have a few words with the fans as he turned back and expressed his displeasure over the reaction.

It is not the first time that Pant has received such a treatment from the fans. He was given a rough reception in the series against Bangladesh last month.
Pant needs to put his head down, put in good performances and prove he merits a place in the team. He is fast running out of opportunities, and needs to start delivering the goods for India.
