Daniels had been wrestling since 1993
The veteran, who has won over 20 individual championships across various promotions, started his wrestling career in 1993.
He had a nearly forgettable stay in the WWE before joining WCW. But things would have been a lot different if WWE's original plans for him had gone through.
Higher Power of Ministry of Darkness
In 2017, Bruce Pritchard revealed that Daniels was scheduled to make his WWE debut in 1999 as the Higher Power, the mysterious figure who controlled The Undertaker's Ministry of Darkness, which also included Bradshaw, Farooq, The Brood, Viscera, and Mideon.
However, McMahon, who had not met Daniels until then, dropped the idea after seeing him for the first time. According to McMahon, Daniels, who stood at 5'11" and had an average physique, did not fit his vision for the Higher Power.
ROH, TNA and AEW
After WWE and WCW, Daniels was part of ROH since its inception in 2002. Around the same time, Daniels also joined the then-newly formed TNA. Daniels continued to switch between ROH and TNA until 2019, when he joined AEW, which was just announced, making him one of their first roster members.
