WWE SmackDown results: Tiffany Stratton beats Bayley to retain WWE Women's Championship
Bayley became the No. 1 contender to challenge WWE Women's champion Tiffany Stratton for her belt last week after winning a four-way match against Jax, Naomi, and her Women's Tag Championship partner, Bianca Belair.
WWE Women¡¯s Champion Tiffany Stratton had her first title defence on the January 17 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Stratton defended her women's title against former two-time champion Bayley in the main event.

Bayley became the No. 1 contender to challenge Stratton for her belt last week after winning a four-way match against Jax, Naomi, and her Women's Tag Championship partner, Bianca Belair.
The two women had a history, as it was Stratton's interference that cost Bayley her women's title to Jax at SummerSlam last year.
Stratton won her first WWE Women's Championship earlier this month when she cashed in her Money in the Bank on Jax, betraying her friend after helping her retain the title over Naomi.
The challenger Bayley had her hands full on Friday, as another arch-nemesis of hers, former NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez, was in attendance for the title match.

Despite a valiant effort by Bayley, Stratton retained the WWE Women¡¯s Championship by pinning her opponent after delivering a Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
