Cody Rhodes, who is set to put the Undisputed Championship on the line against John Cena at WrestleMania 41, reportedly picked up a legitimate injury at Elimination Chamber 2025. According to a veteran pro-wrestling journalist, the star suffered a busted eardrum and a black in during his segment with the ¡®Franchise Player¡¯ and The Rock.

Elimination Chamber 2025 proved to be an unforgettable night for Cody Rhodes, the reigning WWE Undisputed Champion, but for all the wrong reasons. The star rejected The Rock¡¯s offer to be his ¡®Corporate Champion¡¯ heading into WrestleMania 41.

Thereafter, John Cena¨C the man who won the Elimination Chamber match and earned the right to face him at the ¡®Show of Shows¡¯, turned heel for the first time in 20 years and assaulted ¡®The American Nightmare¡¯ on The Rock¡¯s orders.

Travis Scott too was a part of the segment. According to Dave Meltzer, a veteran journalist, Rhodes was left with a damaged eardrum and a legitimate blackeye after the beatdown. He further said that the injury most probably happened because of a spot with the celebrity rapper.

¡°Cody got hurt. I¡¯m pretty sure it was Travis Scott that did it. I¡¯ve heard he had a busted eardrum and a black eye,¡± he said on Wrestler Observer Newsletter.

The WWE is yet to react to this report.

The road ahead

Despite this, Rhodes is still set to take on John Cena at WrestleMania 41. The Cenation leader is likely to have The Rock in his corner during the bout. There is also a possibility of Travis Scott stepping into the ring somewhere down the line. It has been reported that he is already started training for the same.

WrestleMania 41 is set to take place in Las Vegas on April 19 and April 20.
