Remember The Mitsubishi Lancer? Well Now There's A New One
Back in the late 90s, the Mitsubishi Lancer was one of the few ¡®modern¡¯ sedans on sale in the country. Alongside the Honda City, it was the performance car all the kids dreamt of owning one day. The SFXi variant with the sporty side skirts, bumper and rear spoiler was probably the best looking one.

Now Mitsubishi has launched a brand new model, dubbed the Grand Lancer. It¡¯s a thoroughly redesigned model based on the ninth-generation Lancer. At the front are the more angular headlamps and a reworked bumper. It¡¯s what Mitsubishi calls the Dynamic Shield design.

At the rear too, the design is rather aggressive. We especially like the angular treatment to the tail lamps. The cabin layout has been redone and looks quite premium. Powering the car is a 1.8-litre engine that¡¯s good for 138 bhp.

The car will be put on sale in Taiwan and select south-east Asian markets. The chances of the car coming to India are slim, but with Mitsubishi joining the Renault-Nissan alliance, you never know.
