Earlier PlayStation Plus used to be a service that would allow PlayStation players to play online, along with an added benefit of having at least two games added to the user¡¯s library. However, now, the subscription has been split into three tiers with the inclusion of an extensive game library as well as cloud gaming features.
PS Plus will now have three tiers -- PS Plus Premium, PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Essential.
PS Plus Essential offers the same benefits as the existing PS Plus subscription such as two monthly downloadable games, exclusive discounts, cloud storage for saved games as well as online multiplayer access.
PS Plus Extra offers everything that¡¯s in the Essential tier along with a catalogue of up to 400 PS5 games, with several from the PS Studios catalogue that players can download and play.
PS Plus Premium is the top-of-the-line subscription that includes everything from the Essential and Extra tiers, along with 340 additional games, which include PS3 titles that are playable via cloud streaming as well as a catalogue of popular PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2 and PSP titles.
It also offers time-limited trials where players can select games before they buy. Chances are, however, the cloud gaming feature might not come to India anytime soon, since PlayStation Now, Sony¡¯s cloud gaming platform hasn¡¯t been released yet.
