11 Features That First Launched On Android Phones, Before Apple Implemented It In The iPhone
It's just a coincidence this was released on the new iPhone's launch day right?
Qualcomm today published a blog post outlining its various accomplishments in smartphone technology over the years. Glorious milestones the mobile chipmaker has achieved through Android phone makers over the years!
It¡¯s of course a sneaky way of patting themselves on the back for everything they¡¯ve achieved before Apple has, and certainly not on the very day the Cupertino giant plans to launch its new iPhone.
In its horn-tooting parade, Qualcomm congratulates itself and its Android partners for achieving some industry-firsts, including wireless charging, dual camera systems, OLED displays, and more. All of the things that just happen to be some of the main offerings of the upcoming iPhone X.
So here are some of those proud achievements, as listed by Qualcomm.

Why is Qualcomm throwing shade at Apple right now?
No, Qualcomm isn¡¯t trying to light the fires beneath Apple and Android fans, but it IS currently engaged in a vicious patent battle with the iPhone maker. So them posting something like this obviously isn¡¯t a coincidence, even though it doesn¡¯t actually mention Apple by name.
Of course, there are some discrepancies in this list, though none really that should be instead credited to Apple. For one, LG¡¯s G Flex 2 wasn¡¯t the only smartphone to introduce OLED displays, and it¡¯s not really fair to include Qualcomm¡¯s reference design handset in any of these categories. Nevertheless, the company makes a strong point:
Android smartphones have historically had these features well before the iPhone, though Apple¡¯s likely response to that would be that they develop longer to make sure they¡¯re up to company standards and then implement them better.
Another paragraph at the end reads, ¡°We¡¯re working on inventing the next set of world firsts and collaborating with partners across the industry to get them into your hands, on a band around your wrist, or with lenses for over your eyes. Here¡¯s to the next generation of mobile device start-ups and innovators, competing to bring you the next wave of class-leading Android devices. As before, they¡¯ll continue to pave the way for others to come.¡±
Dang, Qualcomm throws some serious shade. Maybe later tonight, we¡¯ll get to see just how well the iPhone X¡¯s implemented features fare against those that came first.
