Now, the skateboard maker wants to extend the utility of its products. For this, it allows its individual customers to rent out their electric skateboards through an app. Those in search of a ride can connect with the nearest supplier, initiate a conversation with the owner and also pay the associated rent through the app. Much like AirBnb.
For sharing, Spectra X is the latest offering in the electric skateboard lineup by the company. It is not yet launched though and will be making its debut at the ongoing CES 2019. While none of its specifications have been revealed as of now, once out, the skateboard is expected to launch in the Chinese market beginning March. Its highlights are its replaceable as well as rechargeable battery and its waterproof capability.

As for the current offerings, the Spectra Silver is the most premium one by Walnut Technology, offering 25 to 30 kms of range at a maximum speed of 35 kmph. The speed can be adjusted by pressing the front or the back foot while riding it.
Sharing such electric skateboards is aimed at increasing the low cost mobility options within a region.
