Apple Won't Ship Power Adapter With New Apple Watch To Save The Environment
The reason for this omission, according to Apple, was because of Apple¡¯s plans of going completely carbon neutral by the year 2030.
Last night, Apple went ahead and showcased its newest Apple Watches and iPads with newer specifications and hardware.
The new Apple Watch Series 6 got blood oxygen level detector along with a bunch of cool software features and new colourful bodies to look hip and trendy, pretty much underscoring Apple's dominance in the smartwatch industry.

However, as the Apple Watch announcements were coming to an end, Lisa P. Jackson, Apple's vice president of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives announced that they¡¯re no longer going to ship a charging adapter with the new Apple Watch Series 6 out-of-the-box.
The reason for this omission, according to Apple, was because of Apple¡¯s plans of going completely carbon neutral by the year 2030. And losing the power adapter was one of the compromises that had to be made.
According to the rationale put forward by Apple's Lisa P. Jackson, customers have been accumulating USB power adapters and manufacturing these consumes resources which are added to their carbon footprint.

What was surprising is that some users found out that the more expensive Apple Watch Edition that comes with Hermes wrist straps doesn¡¯t omit the chargers like the Series 6 and the newly launched SE variants.

This decision for Apple to drop the power adapter from the new Series 6 Watch is making people believe that the decision was made just to help the trillion dollar company earn more money.
We had already anticipated that the iPhones would let go of the adapter, but we were clueless about the Apple Watch getting the same treatment. Luckily, the iPads -- both the budget 8th Generation and the iPad Air -- get 20W chargers packed in the box. Moreover, Apple actually showcased the adapter as a feature in its summary collage of all the features -- talk about 2020 not getting any crazier, huh?
To be fair, earlier this year the European Union had voted in favour of all phones to have a universal charging port (USB Type-C) to reduce e-waste generated from thrown away charging adapters and cable. Apple, at the time, had responded to this development stating that them limiting the port would limit innovation and result in more waste, as existing iPhone users will have to get new USB-C ports.
