Apple's iPhone 15 Series Could Only Become Available By October, Report Claims

iPhone 15 availability could be delayed until October, reports claim. In addition, it appears that the iPhone 15 Pro models could have fewer units available at launch. Usually, Apple releases new iPhones every year in September as part of its launch cycle.

The iPhone 12 series was released later than usual due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This year, iPhone 15 is expected to face a similar delay. According to a Bank of America (BoA) analyst, the iPhone 15 series could hit the markets only in October, not September.

iPhone 15 delayed

"The launch of the iPhone 15 could be delayed by a few weeks, pushing the debut of the next-generation phone into the December quarter," said BoA Global Research Analyst Wamsi Mohan, in an investor note seen by Barrons.

Mohan made his claims based on supply chain audits, and added that iPhone sales for the fiscal year ending September 2023 could be lower than expected. His claims hold weight owing to the fact that he was right about the iPhone 12 launch in 2020.

A different report claims that iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max could face a short supply during the September launch owing to screen manufacturing issues.

iPhone 15 Pro models limited quantity

According to The Information, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max might go official in September, but it will be in limited quantity. It appears that Apple's display suppliers are using a new manufacturing process that will cause a delay. This process is designed to reduce the bezels' width on the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models.

The iPhone 15 series, including the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max would be officially released in September, but will hit the stores only by October, according to a report.
