Reported first by CBC, Noam Pischanker has a special place in his heart for video games and it is this love that motivated him to join Code Ninjas -- a coding platform that teaches kids to code seeking a marital-arts style progress system in the form of belts -- black being the topmost they award.
In a matter of six months, Pischanker has managed to create a building game from scratch dubbed Maze Farmer, which has been instrumental in helping him win the black belt.
You play as a robot named Jamo who is on a planet in space where your objective is to farm after discovering seeds and other crafting materials. The goal is to farm for the Earth.
Rachel Wang, who manages the Halifax division of Code Ninjas reveals that Pischanker actually was someone who could barely even type on the keyboard and today he types faster than his father.
His training started from block programming, following instructions, placing the blocks together. It took two whole years for him to get from the white belt to the black belt, which for a child of that age usually can take three to four years.
