Boy Who Claimed To Make 600 E-Waste Drones Unable To Answer Basic Questions

The story of Drone Prathap -- a young child of a farmer who learnt to make drones using e-waste and rose to fame by winning several accolades around the world and made India proud is an inspiring one.

And as per reactions to his latest televised interview, some serious questions need to be asked of Drone Prathap's credibility.

While reports surrounding his achievements have been making rounds on the internet, (even we did a story on his achievements), however, he rose to fame when reports started to surface that he¡¯s been elected by PM Modi to be a part of DRDO (this has later been regarded as fake news by Prathap on his Instagram).

This definitely shook things up a bit and this is when people on social media started claiming that Drone Prathap's achievements may not be genuine.

Several posts on social media claim that the awards and accolades that he¡¯s claimed to have won don¡¯t have his name in it. He¡¯s taken the name of some events that don¡¯t even have websites, to begin with. And the events that too have websites haven¡¯t really mentioned Prathap as a winner in any of them.

Last night, to bust all these claims, BTV news called Drone Prathap on-air along with Darshan who asked him a few questions about these events¡¯ legitimacy. He claimed that he¡¯s got all the certificates and emails and that he will be emailing them the certificates to prove it.

But many Twitter users have actually gone ahead and contacted the people responsible for the events, and have discovered that the awards Prathap is currently claiming, never really existed.

Additionally, people online have been claiming that the drones he¡¯s standing besides aren¡¯t actually made by him but by known drone makers from Japan and other countries that many have mistaken for his.

When the anchor asked him to show the drones that he¡¯s created on camera he refused to do so, claiming that his intellectual property will be impacted by showcasing them to the world like this.

However, what came next truly shook us all. When the television expert asked him to explain concepts like lift and drag -- basic concepts of aerodynamics quintessential to drone engineering, Prathap refused to do so, claiming this isn¡¯t the time and platform for explaining all this.

Drone Prathap in previous reports has claimed that he¡¯s read thousands of research papers on drones to learn about them and that he¡¯s also given guest lectures at IITs around the nation.

With all the social media messages alleging the worst against Prathap, it really isn¡¯t looking good for our ¡®Drone Boy¡¯, and looks like he has got a lot of explaining to do.
