Elon Musk May Soon Sell A Tesla-Branded Tequila Because He's A Genius Who Also Loves A Joke

For this April Fools¡¯ Day, Elon Musk thought it was funny to pretend Tesla is incredibly broke and possibly unable to pay back bond-holders. Part of the story selling the prank involved a line describing Musk being ¡°passed out against a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by ¡®Teslaquilla¡¯ bottles.¡±
Today Musk, in typical fashion, decided to double down on the joke. He posted a photo on Instagram showing a tequila bottle with a ¡®Teslaquila¡¯ label, even bearing the company¡¯s official logo.
Of course, there was no caption to the photo, so either Musk is just prolonging the joke or he¡¯s had an epiphany and realised Tesla-branded shooters is actually a great idea. Frankly, you can¡¯t put it past Musk to just go with it.
After all, he¡¯s used merchandising tactics a number of times to drum up hype for his companies. He called attention to the Falcon Heavy by launching a Tesla Roadster into space on it. He sold hats and, eventually, a freaking flamethrower to have generate interest in his Boring Company, which is drilling tunnels under LA for a high-tech transit system. The hats raised $1 million for Boring Company, and the flamethrowers alone garnered him $10 million. And just last week, Musk announced Lego-like building blocks made from the stone unearthed by the digging company.
So would I buy Teslaquila, given the chance? Well, if it can promise me a ludicrous (mode) night of debauchery, abso-freaking-lutely.
