According to the e-commerce giant, this feature would come in handy in the case of furniture, luggage and large appliances where customers need to better understand its size, fit and overall appearance in a particular space, before making a purchase decision.
However, the feature is not just restricted to larger objects -- users can use Flipkart Camera in the beauty category too, allowing buyers to experience what a product might look like on the buyer¡¯s face. However, it is important to note that as of now the AR demo is only available for large appliances and furniture.
Jeyandran Venugopal, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said, ¡°At Flipkart, we are constantly working towards making e-commerce an inclusive and immersive experience for customers. With the Flipkart Camera feature, we aim to take this experience a notch higher by offering in-house demonstrations of products from the comfort of a consumer¡¯s living room, thereby helping them make an informed decision before purchasing.
