How Powerful Is The Newly Released GPT-4? These Examples Outline Its Potential
Here are a few examples that highlight just how powerful GPT-4 is, and the hidden potential of this tool
OpenAI, the startup behind the viral AI chatbot ChatGPT unveiled its advanced version called GPT-4 on Tuesday, claiming that the tool is able to tackle "more nuanced instructions" than the previous generation that changed the game for every company, forcing the likes of Google and Meta into a slurry of actions to imbibe similar AI tools into their services.
While the earlier generation of GPT did a great job at handling basic tasks, it wasn't always efficient and on-point, but the new GPT-4 relies on a "large multimodal model" that can accept text inputs of up to 25,000 words - large leap from GPT-3.5's 3,000 word-limit.
But how advanced is GPT-4, really? Many users claimed that they were able to create entire games along the likes of Tetris and Snake in less than a minute. Mind = blown! Other users tried creating a matchmaking service, and even a tool to find new medications. To kick off, here's an example, with more to follow below.
1. Program a Tetris game in HTML and Javascript in less than 30 seconds.

The true power of GPT-4
Here are a few examples that highlight just how powerful GPT-4 is, and the hidden potential of this tool, first spotted by Time. A table of comparisons shows how GPT-4 performed on various exams like The Bar Exam, LSAT, GRE, etc. when compared to GPT-3.5 and the scores are shocking. Not only GPT-4 managed to pass all exams, it did so with impressive scores. Take a look below!

LSAT: 88%
GRE Quantitative: 80%, Verbal: 99%

Remember the world's first chatbot lawyer "DoNotPay" that's being sued for not having a degree? Its founder Joshua Browder recently shared a snapshot of how GPT-4's image feature can change the game. According to Browder, the AI tool can identify errors in people's medical bills and also compare prices with other hospitals to draft a legal defence based on the "No Surpises Act" in the US that offers legal protection to patients against surprise bills, highlighting how it may be used in defence purposes.
DoNotPay is working on using GPT-4 to generate "one click lawsuits" to sue robocallers for $1,500. Imagine receiving a call, clicking a button, call is transcribed and 1,000 word lawsuit is generated. GPT-3.5 was not good enough, but GPT-4 handles the job extremely well: pic.twitter.com/gplf79kaqG

Give it a currently available drug and it can:
- Find compounds with similar properties
- Modify them to make sure they're not patented
- Purchase them from a supplier (even including sending an email with a purchase order) pic.twitter.com/sWB8HApfgP
Many other companies also also looking to instantly incorporate GPT-4's phenomenal capabilities into their services, including financial services company like Morgan Stanley and the language-learning app Duolingo, OpenAI's website states.

Sadly, GPT-4 isn't available to everyone like ChatGPT and requires a subscription to ChatGPT Plus that costs $20 (Rs. 1653) a month. GPT-4 has a host of benefits over ChatGPT. Not only is it harder to trick and smarter, it can also understand images and also has a longer memory, in addition to multi-language support. Think that's all? There's a bonus - GPT-4 has more personalities, i.e., it can take on the persona of whatever you ascribe to it.
