GitHub Kit Lets Users Integrate ChatGPT Into Their WhatsApp Account: Here's How

Wouldn't it be cool to have ChatGPT integration in your WhatsApp account? A developer has created a GitHub kit to add AI functionality to the Meta-owned messaging service.

Currently, WhatsApp's brush with AI bots is limited to basic automated responses. With ChatGPT's advanced conversational capabilities, WhatsApp could unlock more potential. However, Meta isn't officially imbibing OpenAI's tool into its service.

How to integrate ChatGPT into your WhatsApp

All thanks to a GitHub project created by developer Daniel Gross, users can access what the developer is calling "WhatsApp-GPT." The GitHub tool was written in Python and the Go programming language (Golang). In order to run the service, it needs to go through a command line or a terminal. In addition, it requires a valid WhatsApp account that is registered to a phone number, the GitHub page states.

According to the developer, the chatbot runs in a separate browser window to respond to chats. Users would be require to run two scripts - one in Golang and one in Python. Want to watch two ChatGPTs "talk to each other"? You can also do that using a "multichat" script.

Here's a fair warning. WhatsApp doesn't allow third-party integration with ChatGPT - so you might be violating their terms of service by using this service.

Among other companies, OpenAI's biggest supporter is Microsoft. The company has poured money into the startup and is currently integrating a more advanced version of the chatbot into its Bing search and Edge browser.
