Elon Musk Says Starlink Internet Coming To India Soon, After Getting Regulatory Nod

Until now, it seemed like India might never get an update on SpaceX's upcoming Starlink connectivity in the country. But space mogul and tech-demigod Elon Musk has given indication on Starlink's future in India himself.
Musk is notoriously famous for revealing important titbits about his scientific exploits on Twitter, and that's where this revelation found space as well. According to Musk, SpaceX is working out "regulatory approval processes" for Starlink to work in India.

What is Starlink?
The satellite-based internet service called Starlink has created a lot of buzz since its announcement earlier in 2015. It will provide internet connectivity to all of Earth via a constellation of low-orbit satellites.
Recently, Starlink shipped 100,000 terminals to customers and the satellite launches began in November 2019.

As part of its beta programme, the company offered a $99 (?7,200) per month plan to a select lucky customers in 2020.
So far, SpaceX has launched 1,700 satellites to bolster its "constellation" along with 100,000 customer terminals that have been shipped to customers. In addition, Starlink has received more than half a million orders for Starlink internet services, according to TechCrunch.
Most customers selected by Starlink's beta programme are currently based in remote areas where traditional internet connectivity is poor or non-existent. To begin using the service, customers have to pay $499 (?36,440) upfront.

What does Starlink offer?
The kit comes with a user terminal called "Dishy McFlatface" (LOL), a WiFi router, cables, a power supply along with a mounting tripod.
SpaceX hopes to launch 30,000 Starlink satellites into Earth's low-orbit to provide broadband connectivity to users across the globe.
