Intel Reveals Four New CPU Families At CES 2021 For Business, Gaming & Education

Kicking off CES 2021, Intel has announced four new series of processors that are designed to offer ¡®premium PC experiences.¡¯ These include the VPro line of CPUs for business users, N series for education users, H series mobile CPUs for gaming laptops and 11th generation Intel Core S CPUs for gaming desktops and PC enthusiasts.

VPro series CPUs for business laptops

The 11th generation Core vPro line of CPUs, as per company¡¯s claims offers the best performance in a thin and light form factor. The vPro comes with added hardware security features that make them stand out from the ordinary such as Intel Hardware Shield that is the industry¡¯s first silicon-based AI threat detection to prevent ransomware and crypto-mining attacks. Core vPro CPUs also get Intel Control-Flow Enforcement Technology to help shut down an entire class of attacks that are said to have long evaded software-only solutions.

It also introduced the Evo vPro platform for business notebooks that offer formats for sleek office machines with instant wake functions and better battery stamina.

Intel N-series CPUs for the Education sector

The N-series processors are the least powerful and most affordable processors in Intel¡¯s lineup and are targeted towards the education sector. The Nseries includes Intel¡¯s Pentium Silver and Celeron processors. As per Intel¡¯s claims, the N series processors (which are based on 10nm architecture) offer 35 percent better overall performance with 78 percent better graphics performance compared to previous generations.

H-series CPUs for gaming laptops

The H series processors under the 11th generation Core processors are designed for gaming laptops, specifically for machines as thin as 16 millimetres. The most powerful CPU in the series is the Intel Core i7 Special Edition -- a quad-core processor that can go as high as 5GHz Turbo. They also feature new Gen 4 PCI-E architecture. Brands like Asus, MSI, Acer and others are expected to announce systems powered by the H-series CPUs. But that¡¯s not all, the series will also see an eight-core CPU that is expected to ship later in the quarter.

11th generation Core Desktop CPUs

Intel also demonstrated the 11th generation desktop CPUs (based on Rocket Lake-S architecture), which according to Intel, features 19 percent gen-over-gen instructions per cycle improvement. The most powerful CPU in the series is the Intel Core i9-11900K.

Intel also revealed ¡®Alder Lake¡¯ architecture. This next-generation CPU that showcases a massive breakthrough in the x86 architecture while also being Intel¡¯s most scalable SoC. Alder Lake will also be Intel¡¯s first processor built on a new, enhanced version of 10nm SuperFin and will serve as the foundation for desktop and mobile processors that deliver smarter, faster and more efficient real-world computing. The CPU is due in the second half of 2021.
