iPhone 15: Matching Colour USB-C Cables Expected, iPhone 15 Pro Max Delay Possible

As the iPhone 15 launch inches closer, the rumour mill is working extra hard. While some leaks turn out to be true, others just fall flat during Apple's yearly smartphone launch cycle.

As is customary, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max this September. This year, the iPhone line-up will come with something new - a USB Type-C port.

The event is expected to take place in September. Even then, it appears that iPhone 15 Pro Max models could be delayed to October due to some production issues.

What's with coloured wires?

A new claim by a tipster alleges that the iPhone 15 and iPhone Plus will come with braided USB Type-C cables in the same colour scheme as the iPhone. This was shared by @MajinBuOfficial on X, formerly Twitter.

This claim was also made by Apple device prototype collector @KosutamiSan who posted design validation test (DVT) samples of the USB Type-C cables on X.

The coloured charging cables are expected to be bundled with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus and are shown in black, white, purple, yellow, and orange - probably corresponding to the colours of the iPhone 15 models.

All USB Type-C cables seen in the images, except for the black variant, come with a glossy white shell at the end. Unlike older Apple cables, these braided USB Type-C cables are also seen with tubes for a longer life.

While Apple is expected to launch its iPhone 15 series on September 12, a new report alleges that the iPhone 15 Pro Max (or the iPhone Ultra) could be delayed by a few weeks, 9to5mac reported. Pre-orders are expected to begin on September 22.

The report cites an equity analyst who claimed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will come with a periscope camera and that its supplier Sony would not be able to provide the sensor on time to ship along with other iPhone 15 models. Based on this claim, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be delivered only in mid-October.
