Facebook's historic outage helped PornHub
Facebook's outage time was historic, representing the largest disruption on Facebook since 2008 when a bug forced the social media website offline for nearly a day.
The centralisation of all Facebooks services including Instagram and WhatsApp led to this mass outage, knocking all services offline for the three platforms. Almost every Facebook service was affected, even including its corporate infrastructure, disabling engineers from entering the building to investigate.

Facebook pinned the outage on configuration switch in its servers. PornHub didn't have to do much to capitalise on Facebook outage, except to exist.
Mind you, pornography websites and all portals that host porn are banned in India. Viewing porn privately, though is not illegal.
Quite the week for Facebook
Facebook has made quite the headlines in the last week after a whistleblower testimony to US lawmakers revealed how the company is ill-prepared to deal with safety concerns on its pool of platforms.
The whistleblower alleged that if Facebook continues to tread on its current path, democracy could itself could be compromised around the world.

In documents leaked to the Wall Street Journal, the whistleblower filed an official complaint about Facebook's inability to control hate speech in India, with special mention to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
PornHub too has been at the centre of controversy after a New York Times report claimed that a lot of non-consensual sexual content continued to exist on the site. This forced PornHub to change its way, now demanding everyone who uploads content to verify their identity.
Regardless, technology's momentary lapses do not curb human nature, as evident in how quickly users jumped to PornHub once Facebook services went out.
