PUBG Mobile To Return In New Avatar, With $100 Million To Promote Game In India
PUBG has announced that it will be investing a whopping $100 million in one of its most lucrative markets to help PUBG Mobile grow, while also encouraging players to embrace gaming, esports, game streaming etc.
This week has been really positive for PUBG Mobile players. After the South Korean battle royale game company revealed that it¡¯s teaming up with Microsoft to bring PUBG Mobile back to India, now it has announced that the game will be coming in an all-new avatar.

Reported first by TechCrunch, PUBG has announced that it will be investing a whopping $100 million in one of its most lucrative markets to help PUBG Mobile grow, while also encouraging players to embrace gaming, esports, game streaming etc.
PUBG said in a statement, ¡°Thanks to overwhelming community enthusiasm for PUBG esports in India, the company also plans to make investments by hosting India-exclusive esports events, which will feature the biggest tournaments, the largest prize pools, and the best tournament productions.¡±
In case you didn¡¯t know, two months ago, the beloved battle royale game got axed by the Indian government on the grounds of it being a threat to privacy and data of users in India. At the time, the game was being published in India in collaboration with Chinese tech conglomerate Tencent, which still continues to publish the game in several markets around the globe.
Recently, PUBG announced that it is rescinding the publishing rights for Tencent for the battle royale game in India, which now has been handed over to Microsoft. This deal will allow all the user data from PUBG as well as from its other properties to Microsoft¡¯s Azure servers.

PUBG statement added, ¡°Privacy and security of Indian player data being a top priority for PUBG Corporation, the company will conduct regular audits and verifications on the storage systems holding Indian users¡¯ personally identifiable information to reinforce security and ensure that their data is safely managed.¡±
We still don¡¯t have a launch date for the game just yet, but from the looks of it, we could expect the game to come out before this year ends, something experts also have touted in the past. It¡¯ll be interesting to see what new avatar PUBG Mobile comes in India and whether Indian mobile gamers will embrace it with the same love.
