Reported first by ANI, Reliance Industries, at its refinery-petrochemical complex in Jamnagar among other facilities produces over a 1,000 MT of medical-grade liquid oxygen every single day. To put this into perspective, this is over 11 percent of the nation¡¯s total production.
According to the report, this is able to meet the needs of almost one in 10 patients that are currently battling against the novel coronavirus. It is important to note, however, that Reliance wasn¡¯t known for manufacturing medical grade liquid oxygen in the past.
Mukesh Ambani is personally supervising the manufacturing and logistics of the liquid oxygen from its facilities. To reinforce the availability of medical oxygen, Reliance is focusing on two factors -- firstly refocussing several industrial processes at Reliance¡¯s Jamnagar and other facilities for faster scale-up in production of medical-grade liquid oxygen, and secondly, expanding loading and transportation capacities for delivering the oxygen safely and efficiently.
