Xiaomi has finally unveiled its feature-loaded Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro in India, and it has completely shaken up the competition.
The phone offers some really impressive specifications for a very reasonable price tag. And here are 7 things about the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro that makes this phone a tough contender in the flagship killer battle.
Xiaomi Redmi K20 / K20 Pro 6-layer Design
The Redmi K20/K20 Pro is one good looker. Not only is this device rocking a full edge-to-edge display with a 91.9 percent screen-to-body ratio, but the back of the device seems to be pretty good as well.
It still uses the classic glass sandwich design which is fused with an aluminium chassis, but under the glass, it consists of 6 layers to bring the pattern. When light is reflected on this panel, it creates a really beautiful pattern that will tempt you to not slap a case at the back.
Redmi K20 / K20 Pro weighs 191 grams
One big drawback of owning a big-screen smartphone is the weight that comes along with it. iPhone XS Max weighs a hefty 208 grams, whereas OnePlus 7 Pro weighs a little around 207 grams. However, even with a 6.3-inch display, the Redmi K20/K20 Pro weighs just around 191 grams.
Notification LED on screen
In order to accommodate the notch-less display, most flagship smartphones these days tend to eliminate the notification LED. This tiny LED can come in really handy as it is helpful to see a number of things on the smartphone without actually turning the screen on.
Surprisingly, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro have housed the LED on the pop-up camera module itself. Sure it isn't as helpful as having it somewhere near the screen, but it¡¯s still quite considerate of Xiaomi to include it nonetheless.
HDR Display
Even though the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones are targetted to be mid-range devices, they¡¯ve managed to include a flagship feature on its device's display. Both these devices get HDR or High Dynamic Range support. What HDR does is it enhances the colour of the content you¡¯re watching on the display to make the colour more vibrant and contrast-rich. Netflix and Amazon Prime currently support HDR content on their platform and that¡¯ll really help people in making the most of this display. Moreover, PUBG¡¯s latest update has also added HDR support, so all PUBG players can make the most of this.
Camera Edge Lighting System
The pop-up camera on the Redmi K20/K20 Pro has another cool trick up its sleeve. The sides of the camera houses LEDs on the inside that glow when the camera pops up. It isn't as bright as an LED flash, but it looks quite stunning while clicking selfies.
Redmi K20/K20 Pro has a headphone jack!
Yes! You read that right, Xiaomi is still retaining the headphone jack on its devices and Redmi K20/K20 Pro. What's more, is that the headphone jack also gets a high-quality DAC to deliver great audio to your headphones.
