Sundar Pichai's Alphabet Pledges Rs 6000 Crore To Support People In COVID-19 Outbreak

With COVID-19 severely impacting the world, billionaires around the world came together to help people during these difficult times. We¡¯ve seen Alibaba, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook leave no stone unturned to help people across the world.
And now, Sundar Pichai has revealed that Alphabet is pledging $800 million worth of support for health organisations, small businesses as well as researchers who¡¯re trying to crack the COVID-19 code.
The 800 million is in the form of cash, ad credits as well as access to cloud services from the search engine giant, announced by Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.
Alphabet is providing $250 million in ad grants to institutions like the World Health Organisation, along with 100 other public agencies that are trying to keep the world in sync about the advancements of the novel coronavirus.
Alphabet is also providing $340 million worth of free advertising to small and medium-sized businesses who are already a part of Google¡¯s network to stabilise and help their business in these troubled times.
For scientists and researchers, Alphabet has pledged $20 million in credits for Google cloud services that they can use and find a solution, or track crucial data, to crack the code for the novel coronavirus.
Moreover, Alphabet has also revealed that it will match as much as $10,000 in donations that its employees make to organizations (up from $7,500). They¡¯ve also been working in tandem with partners to increase the production of masks, gloves and other protective gears to combat shortage that is currently being faced by healthcare providers.
To bridge the gap, Alphabet¡¯s Google, Verily and X are providing engineers, supply chain and healthcare to help increase the production of ventilators.
Pichai said in a statement, ¡°Together, we'll continue to help our communities -- including our businesses, educators, researchers, and nonprofits -- to navigate the challenges ahead.¡±
