Indian Boy Builds Special Shoes To Help Blind Avoid Obstacles: How They Work
He shared that he aspires to become a scientist when he grows up and create more such tech devices to help make lives easier for humanity.
Ankurit Karmakar, a teenager studying in 9th grade from the Karimganj district in Assam has developed a smart shoe that can help the visually impaired avoid obstacles.

Reported first by ANI, the shoe that looks like something out of a James Bond movie looks like an ordinary pair of leather loafers. However, under the hood, it's loaded with some really cool tech.
At the front, it features sensors that detect obstacles. Upon detecting any obstacle, the shoe shoots out a loud buzzer to alert the wearer of the oncoming hurdle.

The shoe is powered by a tiny battery that¡¯s strapped onto its sole, with the sensor connecting to the battery using a barrel connector.
Ankurit explained in a statement, "If there's an obstacle in the way, the sensor in the shoe will detect it and the buzzer will give an alert. When the buzzer will ring, the visually impaired person will be able to hear it and he can become alert and act accordingly to avoid the obstacle."
