Bluetooth Headsets Will Offer Active Noise Cancellation, Voice Assistant Feature At Lower Costs

Bluetooth earbuds and audio gadgets are all the rage these days and to further enable them with all the modern features, chip-major Qualcomm has come up with its next-generation of ultra-low-power Bluetooth Systems on a Chip (SoCs).

Specifically designed for completely wireless earbuds and hearables, the new SoC by Qualcomm can enable top-end features like active noise cancellation (ANC) and voice assistant support on more such gadgets.

The two Bluetooth systems unveiled by Qualcomm are QCC514X for the premium tier listening gadgets and the QCC304X for the entry and mid-tier devices. Both the SoCs support Qualcomm's TrueWireless Mirroring technology used to connect an earbud to the phone or any other device via Bluetooth. The other earbud then simply mirrors the one connected to the device. Both the earbuds can support the connection individually.

In addition to the Mirroring technology mentioned above, the new Qualcomm SoCs also come with integrated Hybrid ANC. An interesting thing to note here is that Qualcomm has designed the new SoCs to support extended battery life. Thus the use of ANC will have minimal impact on the battery life of the device.

Apart from these similarities, the two SoCs understandably differ from each other and this difference lies with their support for voice commands. The one meant for the premium tier is equipped with Always on Voice which enables the user to interact with the voice assistant with just a wake word. Meanwhile, the QCC304x is able to do that with a push button, thus costing less than its premium counterpart.

The two SoCs can prove to be revolutionary in the world of Bluetooth enabled audio. Features like the Active Noise Cancellation and Voice Assistant Support that are currently limited to the premium bluetooth earbuds and hearables will now be able to reach a much wider audience with these SoCs.
