We May Wear This Spacesuit Helmet Soon, If COVID-19 Continues To Be A Threat
Developed by Canadian startup VYZR technologies, It is fitted with fans and filters.
COVID-19 pandemic has forced all of us to wear masks when we commute while making us all very conscious of the person next to us.
Sometimes we feel if only there could be a shield that could protect us at all times from contracting the novel coronavirus. Well, it looks like we¡¯ve got something exactly what we wanted.
It¡¯s called a BioVYZR and its a space suit for our planet when we decide to step outdoors. Well, not exactly a spacesuit, since it only covers the top half of your body, but you get the what I¡¯m trying to say.
Developed by Canadian startup VYZR technologies, It is fitted with fans and filters that bring in fresh clean COVID-19-free air. The suit has outlets to the side for the air to be released.
The contraption sits on top of our shoulders and is attached with chest straps and braces for firmly being attached to the body.
Unlike a conventional PPE suit, this has ventilation, so the wearer won¡¯t be uncomfortable for longer durations. Moreover, it only covers the top half of our body, so movement isn¡¯t restricted at the bottom half.
BioVYZR's co-founder Yezin Al-Qaysi said in a statement, ¡°We're in the grips of a fiery debate over whether COVID-19 is transmitted only by large droplets, or through aerosols as well. Until a scientific consensus crystallizes, we'll need PPE that can effectively prevent airborne transmission of COVID-19. That s why we made the BioVYZR.¡±
One concern surely exists is whether a suit like this could be worn during a daily commute. If everyone wears this, surely things would need more space.
The BioVYZR when it does come out won¡¯t be cheap as they¡¯re planning on selling it for $172 which is approximately Rs 13,000. The production of the textile elements of the suit has already commenced while mass production of the air-purification mechanism will begin shortly.
Will a suit like this make you feel safer? Tell us in the comments below.
