TV Prices In India To Rise Due To Russia-Ukraine Conflict: All You Need To Know

TV manufacturers across India are looking to increase the prices of their models to make ends meet amidst rising costs and supply constraints caused due to the Russian-Ukraine conflict.

Reported first by Gadgets360, this has been revealed to the publication by industry experts and company chiefs from across the nation.
According to Avneet Sings Marwah, CEO of Super Plastronics -- a Noida based company that manufactures TV sets of Blaupunkt, Thomson, Kodak and others -- the prices of raw materials are expected to rise by a considerable five to ten percent.
What has also been contributing to this chaos is the lockdown of several parts of China which has caused several vessels to simply halt, resulting in the shipments to not be running at 100 percent capacity.
Anand Dubey, CEO of Indkal Technologies, the company that manufactures Acer¡¯s TV units in India has also expressed concern, stating that their company has been experiencing supply chain issues.
He highlighted that both nations are the largest producers of some of the key minerals that are used as raw materials that have already been in shortage. Extension of this conflict could only result in a large cumulative increase in prices of different electronics products across India as well as globally.

Alternatively, Anshika Jain, a senior analyst at Counterpoint revealed that this could impact TV sales in the coming months due to an increase in price, thanks to India being a price-sensitive market.
According to Counterpoint, TV shipments have grown in India by 24 percent year-on-year in 2021 with the smart TV market growing at 55 percent year on year.
