Twitter Headquarters Being Investigated For Adding Beds To Office Rooms
After reports showed beds and makeshift sleeping areas at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, the city's authorities are now investigating the company for adding beds to office rooms
Adding beds to an office space is never a good idea - for an employee's well-being or to comply with local municipal provisions. After reports showed beds and makeshift sleeping areas at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters, the city's authorities are now investigating the company for adding beds to office rooms.
Images of Twitter's SF office went viral on the platform recently, showing conference rooms that had been turned into sleeping quarters. On Monday, Forbes had reported that this was done for Twitter's "hardcore" employees.
Elon Musk's Twitter 2.0
Since Elon Musk took over Twitter, he has managed to fire over half of the company's staff while urging those who were retained to go the extra mile to meet Musk's ambitious goals.
After the images went viral , a Twitter user filed a complaint against Twitter with San Francisco's SF311 customer service centre. Turns out, Twitter hadn't applied for permits to use its official building for residential purposes, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.

The city's SF311 service Tweeted that this issue has been brought to the notice of the Department of Building Inspection. "We need to make sure the building is being used as intended," a department spokesperson told The Washington Post.
The official added that a notice of violation would be issued if building codes aren't met. On Wednesday, the SF311 website said that a site visit was made.
"Conducted site visit with SF planning. Access was provided to 9th floor and portions of the 8th floor. Observed a bed in two rooms on the 8th floor, Further investigation required," it said.
