With work-from-home becoming the norm this year, we¡¯ve all seen how dependent we are on our smartphones to stay connected either with people from work or family. And having the best call quality has now become a necessity.
And now Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has revealed which service provider in India offers the best voice quality, according to user ratings across the nation, in the month of November.
According to TRAI¡¯s data, Idea claimed the top spot with Vodafone being next, and since both the companies teamed up together a few years ago, and they¡¯ve outperformed Reliance Jio, Airtel and even BSNL.
Idea received a rating of 4.9 out of 5, whereas Vodafone sat at 4.6 out of 5. BSNL was third at 4.1 out of 5. Airtel and Jio both have received a rating of 3.8 out of 5. Looking at aggregate data, 88.4 percent of users were satisfied with the voice quality they received, whereas 8.24 percent people weren¡¯t happy with their voice quality and 3.62 percent people experienced a ton of call drops.
Now comparing indoor and outdoor call quality, Vodafone received a 4.6 rating for calls indoors and 4.3 for calls outdoors. Idea, on the other hand, got 4.9 for indoor calls and 4.8 for outdoor calls. Airtel got 3.9 for indoor calls and 3.5 for outdoor calls. BSNL received 3.9 for indoor calls and 4.3 for outdoor calls. Reliance Jio received 3.9 for indoor calls and 3.6 for outdoor calls.
In August, TRAI revealed that Airtel had managed to add more users than Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and BSNL. Airtel added around 28.99 lakh subscribers, Jio on the other hand was able to add only around 18.64 lakh subscribers.
Vi or Vodafone Idea was even behind, with a decline of 12.28 lakh subscribers in August. However, despite this crazy lead by Airtel, Jio remains the telecom operator with the largest market share of 35.08 percent, followed by Airtel at 28.12 percent.
