Smartphone makers today manage to pack in the best specifications for the most pocket-friendly price tag. Xiaomi, Asus and OnePlus have launched some interesting devices in the Indian market recently, all trying to be your preferred flagship killer.

With the unveiling of Xiaomi's Redmi K20 Pro, however, everything just got shaken up, as it tries to pack in the most amount of features and cost way less than the competition. But does it really have what it takes to take down the two strong contenders in the competition today?

Let's do a spec-comparison of the OnePlus 7, Asus 6z and the newly unveiled Redmi K20 Pro and see how strong does it stand and whether it is a good deal to go for, on paper.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OnePlus 7 vs Asus 6z: Display

Let's start with the Redmi K20 Pro. It sports 6.39-inch notch-less OLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels. Asus 6z also gets a notch-less 6.4-inch LCD display with a similar resolution. The displays on both Redmi K20 Pro and the Asus 6z also get support for HDR, which the OnePlus 7's display lacks. The OnePlus 7, on the other hand, gets a 6.4-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels with a tear-drop notch that houses the camera module.

All three smartphones come with Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 855 processor. The differences, however, are in the storage and RAM configurations. Redmi K20 Pro is available in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage variants. OnePlus 7 too is made available in 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage variants. Asus 6z is available in three variants- 6GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB storage.

Redmi K20 Pro is using a triple-camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel (Sony IMX586) primary camera at f/1.8, with support for PDAF as well as Laser AF. The second camera is an 8-megapixel sensor at f/2.4 and 2x optical zoom. The third is a 124-degree ultra-wide camera with a 13-megapixel sensor at f/2.4. For selfies, you get a pop-up 20-megapixel shooter for crispy selfies.

On the OnePlus 7, you get a dual-camera setup at the back with a 48-megapixel primary shooter sporting f/1.7 aperture along with standard PDAF along with a 5-megapixel depth sensor. At the front, you get a 16-megapixel shooter.

Asus 6z is slightly different from the other two when it comes to the camera layout. In order to eliminate the notch in the front, Asus uses a motorised camera module that flips the camera back and front (when shooting in selfie mode). The payload includes a dual-camera module with 48-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, along with a secondary 13-megapixel ultra-wide shooter. The nature of the flip camera makes this phone perfect for shooting large groupies by switching to the ultra-wide mode.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OnePlus 7 vs Asus 6z: Headphone Jack

Another crucial point to look out for when comparing these three flagship killer phones is that both the Redmi K20 Pro and the Asus 6z are still rocking a headphone jack. Moreover, Redmi K20 Pro has also added a high-quality DAC to make things better. OnePlus 7 has joined the trend of eliminating headphone jack and needs a dongle to connect to older headphones, which is not included in the box.

Redmi K20 Pro vs OnePlus 7 vs Asus 6z: Software Experience

Redmi K20 Pro, OnePlus 7 and the Asus 6z are running Android Pie 9.0. However, each smartphone has its customisation on top. Redmi K20 Pro gets Xiaomi's overly-customised MIUI skin on top. OnePlus gets the beloved OxygenOS where it is trying to keep everything close to stock Android for a clean interface. Asus 6z is using its ZenUI which is also emphasising on keeping things simple with minimal customisations.

Redmi K20 Pro is powered by a 4000mAh battery, with support for 27W, which as per Redmi's claim promises 58 percent battery in 30 minutes charge. OnePlus gets a 3700mAh battery and is using its trusty Dash Charging (which is now called as Fast Charging, not to be mistaken for WARP Charging) gives you 60 percent charge in 30 minutes. Asus 6z has the largest battery of the lot, with a whopping 5000mAh battery. The 6z also gets 18W quick charging, which is the slowest in the competition.

Here's where things get interesting. Redmi K20 Pro starts at Rs 27,999 for the 6GB/128GB storage variant, followed by Rs 30,999 for the 8GB/256GB storage variant. OnePlus 7 starts at Rs 32,999 for the 6GB/128GB storage variant, whereas the 8GB/256GB storage variant is priced at Rs 37,999. Asus 6z starts at Rs 31,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/128GB variant is priced at Rs 34,999, whereas the 8GB/256GB variant is priced at a hefty Rs 39,999 price tag.
