WhatsApp Enables In-App Support, Colourful Heart Emojis In Beta Updates

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that would allow you to seek support right within the chat and it has also started rolling animated heart emojis for more beta users globally, according to reports by WABetaInfo.

Let¡¯s start with WhatsApp¡¯s new support feature. The in-App support feature was spotted in Android beta 2.21.7.3 from March 2021 which at the time was kept hidden and disabled. However, the same feature was found to be enabled on the recent WhatsApp beta -- WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.3.5 and WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.2.72.

Today, if users head to WhatsApp Settings > Help > Contact Us, WhatsApp could respond to them in a chat window. The chats are marked with a green verified checkmark to authenticate that it¡¯s WhatsApp that is officially connecting with you and keeping you away from scammers.

The feature allows for some of your information to be shared with WhatsApp such as network information, WhatsApp version, OS type and version etc. However, users have the option to not allow this data to be shared if they want.

Last month we saw WhatsApp test out animated heart emojis of different colours, right before the New Year¡¯s. And while the feature wasn¡¯t available to all then, it is slowly rolling out to users now.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp rolled out the animated hearts emoji in WhatsApp Messenger beta for iOS 22.2.72 and WhatsApp Business beta for iOS 22.2.72.

To the unaware, the earlier WhatsApp version only allowed a beating heart animation on red heart emoji. However, with this feature, now hearts of all colours will feature the beating animation on the chat screen.
