World¡¯s Richest Man, Jeff Bezos Could Be World¡¯s First Trillionaire By 2026
The study looked at data from last five Forbes Rich list to get an idea of the yearly wealth growth rate
Today with COVID-19, our world isn¡¯t in its best state. Companies are laying off people left, right centre, while many companies are offering slightly cropped salaries to make ends meet.
However, in this dark time, one man has actually managed to get richer, and this man is actually the richest man in the world -- Jeff Bezos.
He actually lost more money this year (thanks to COVID-19 pandemic and the divorce settlement) bringing his net worth down from $131 billion to $113 billion and still managed to be the richest man on the planet, according to Forbes annual list of the world¡¯s richest people. Currently, he is valued at over $140 billion.
And according to Comparisun, Jeff Bezos is on his way to become world¡¯s first trillionaire by year 2026 -- that's three times GDP of India right now. To the uninitiated, Comparisun is a business software comparison site.
Jeff Bezos to become world's 1st trillionaire
However, for this specific comparison, it looked at data from the last five Forbes Rich list to get an idea for the yearly wealth growth rate of the richest billionaires around the world. They then calculated the average yearly percentage growth over the last five years and applied this rate of growth for each future year to try and predict how the value will change.
Seeing the current growth trend (his net worth has grown by 34 percent on average over the last five years) Bezos, who is currently estimated to be worth over $140 billion dollars, could become the world¡¯s first trillionaire by 2026, at the age of 62.
The study also revealed that Mark Zuckerberg could be in line to become the youngest trillionaire, at the age of 51, by 2036.
India¡¯s richest man, Mukesh Ambani who owns Reliance as well as telecom brand Jio is also on the list, and he is expected to touch trillion-dollar valuation by 2032, at the age of 75 years.
It goes without saying that these are just estimates based on previous performances and the actual state could vary drastically, it is still a fun thing to look at nonetheless.
