It's an exploration of the "history, culture and science behind the practice" of yoga, with lots of sections for you to browse through and enhance your knowledge on the subject.

There is little bit of everything to keep both experts of the art and people who have no idea about yoga interested and diving in. Starting from the basics of yoga, with spotlight on some of its most prominent proponents and practitioners, and the artistic and cultural impact of yoga in India.

Of course we have all heard of Swami Vivekananda and BKS Iyengar as popular yogis who blazed a trail for all the world to follow, but in this online museum you can also read women were actually barred from practicing yoga, and it wasn't until pioneer Shrimati Sita Devi Yogendra, who changed perceptions by becoming the first female guru, that this wrong was corrected. She introduced sequences specially tailored for women's physiology.
