At the confluence of tech, agriculture, and tourism is the envisioned Agri Hub in Dubai that is set to begin construction in 2025.
Dubai's Agri Hub is being touted as the world's biggest agritourism destination, with the potential to create at least 10,000 jobs, said URB, the project's developer, in a statement.
"Dubai¡¯s rural and agricultural rich communities are best positioned to become a global benchmark for agritourism," said Baharash Bagherian, chief executive of URB.
What will the Agri Hub achieve?
The goal is ambitious, as is true for all-things-Dubai. According to Bagherian, the Agri Hub will be an "activity rich environment" with the goal of transforming Dubai into the "world's best rural visitor attraction in the world."
While the location has not been earmarked yet, it is expected to open to the public in 2030. The Agri Hub will embolden local farmers to sell their products directly. For visitors, eco-friendly shopping centres are on the cards, along with restaurants and more.

Tourism is the added bonus of any new tech-forward initiative, and Bagherian claims that the project will promote "greater health, well-being, and prosperity for rural local inhabitants."
The Agri Hub, its creators hope, will serve as the "innovative blueprint" for decarbonised rural tourism hubs of the future.
