You Can Use Jio Fiber 100Mbps Internet From September 5 Onwards, With Free Landline Voice Calls

Ambani announced that so far Jio Fiber has received 15 million registrations, and the aim is to reach 20 million residences and 15 million business establishments across 1,600 towns. The service is currently in 5 lakh homes on a pilot basis. It's been in testing since 2016, but might finally be ready to launch on September 5.
Jio Fiber plans will be priced between Rs 700 and Rs 10,000 per month. Additionally it will offer fixed line voice calls to any Indian operator (mobile or fixed) for free "forever". The service will apparently start with 100 Mbps subscriptions with 1 Gbps plans in the works.

Ambani also revealed that Jio Fiber will come bundled with subscriptions leading OTT applications, possibly referring to the likes of Hotstar Premium or Netflix. The platform will also offer a service called Jio First-Day-First-Show, which will be launched in the middle of 2020, that will allow folks the chance to watch new movies the day of their release.
Jio Fiber subscribers will also receive other benefits like Postpaid Plus. It's basically a convenience service, allowing a priority SIM set-up at your home, family plans with data sharing, international roaming, and phone upgrades at preferential rates.
And more importantly, Fiber subscribers will be offered annual plans called Jio Forever, that net them an HD LED or 4K TV as well as a 4K set-top box for free.
There was also a new mixed reality headset called HoloBoard announced, developed in partnership with Indian firm Tesseract. Demoed at the event, this will tie in with specific applications under Jio's service.
Ambani also briefly talked about setting up a pan-India content delivery network, offering entertainment, shopping, gaming, and education through its broadband service. Meanwhile, they're also joining hands with Microsoft in order to set up a cloud infrastructure platform in the country, one that will store data locally.
