After popular YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, a.k.a. Flying Beast, who recently appeared on Season 4 of Shark Tank India to pitch for his brand BeastLife, was slammed by Anupam Mittal, the owner of Shaadi.com, one of the sharks, once again in the spotlight for his no-holds-barred criticism.
After Gaurav Taneja, Anupam Mittal's sharp remarks came from a social media influencer, Vijay Nihalchandani, who pitched a business idea during the show.
Vijay Nihalchandani is a business and finance influencer who presented his startup, Make My Payment. During his pitch, he faced a blunt reality check when Mittal dismissed his idea, saying, 'Isse acha to thela laga lo' (It is better to start a street cart than this idea).
Anupam Mittal under radar after slamming influencer
The remarks by Anupam Mittal came days after Gaurav Taneja, the popular YouTuber and fitness influencer, shared his views on his experience at the show. In a LinkedIn post, Taneja said he was advised by the sharks to shut down his YouTube channel and go all in on one business.
He further revealed that during the pitch, one of the sharks questioned him whether he would continue making videos for YouTube. After all this, another influencer and Make My Payment app's owner, Vijay Nihalchandani, was asked about the number of users on his platform.
Nihalchandani came with his wife on the show, who revealed that out of 3,500 sign-ups, only 200 were paying subscribers of the app. This is when Anupam Mittal pointed out the weak revenue model and said, ¡°You're making Rs 30,000 per month; isse acha thela laga lo.¡±
