A video showing how deers in the Japanese city of Nara have become accustomed to the human way of life is blowing minds online.

In the clip now going viral all over the internet was shared on Reddit with the caption, ¡°A Deer in Nara (Japan) politely waiting for traffic to stop before crossing.¡± As the caption informs the video originated in Japan in the city of Nara where deers are residents at the Nara Park and are a popular symbol of the city.

In the clip going viral, a deer is seen cautiously crossing a road. At first, the lone deer waits for the cars to stop rolling past. When a driver notices the deer waiting for its turn to cross the road, they stop and let the animal pass by. The deer then sensing the halt, goes ahead and crosses the red light carefully.

People Online Were Shocked To See The Domesticated Deer

The video shocked many people online as they were aware that deers could also be domesticated in such a way. One user claimed that they recently visited the deer park and shared their experience at the place, ¡°Just left Nara this weekend and they are pretty cool. Anything past a group of 2-3 and your in a bit of trouble as they start getting impatient and will start biting and head bumping you for cookies.¡±

While another user pointed out how the deer even bowed for the driver out of gratitude, saying, "Dude, it even bowed to show respect for the driver." One user explained how the deers at the park in Nara had been taught well, "They have actually been conditioned to bow when interacting with humans. If they come up to you and bow, or respond to you bowing, they expect to be given a rice cookie you can get from merchants throughout the park. The young males can get really frustrated if you don¡¯t have cookies and they¡¯ll gang up an chase people. They are adorable."

One fellow was upset that the cars passing by did not stop for the deer to cross sooner and wrote, ¡°Shame on everyone who didn't stop.¡± A second user chimed in, ¡°Everyone that didn¡¯t stop deserves a ticket! They were clearly waiting to cross the street.¡± A third joked, ¡°Is this Animal Crossing?¡±
