BTS' Jin and J-Hope spread Seollal joy in pink and yellow Hanbok, wish ARMY a Happy New Year
Korean New Year, known as Seollal, marks the first day of the year according to the Korean lunar calendar. Sharing a special message with ARMY, BTS members Jin and J-Hope, dressed in Hanbok, spread joy and blessings for the occasion.
The year 2025 began almost a month ago; however, in different parts of the world, celebrating different customs brings in a different date. Korean New Year, or Seollal, marks the first day of the year according to the Korean lunar calendar. In 2025, it falls on Wednesday, January 29 and the festival is celebrated with much joy and enthusiasm.
Spreading the same warmth with their fans, called ARMY, the two members of BTS who have finished their mandatory military service¡ªJin and J-Hope¡ªcame to wish them a happy Seollal.

The video shared by their agency BigHit on the "BANGTANTV" YouTube channel featured the eldest member, Jin, wearing a pink hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) and greeting ARMY. He spoke about how "time flies fast" and mentioned he is "doing my best to bring you a better version of myself."
Next to appear on the screen was J-Hope, dressed in a yellow hanbok. He expressed his first wish for ARMY to have good health and added how he is "dying to meet with many ARMY."
More about the 2025 Lunar New Year (Seollal)
Seollal marks the first day of the lunar calendar and is a time for families to reunite, welcome the New Year, and pay respect to their ancestors. In 2025, Seollal falls on Wednesday, January 29. While the holiday typically includes the day before and after Seollal, this year, with January 27 declared a temporary holiday, the Seollal festivities will be extended from Monday, January 27, to Thursday, January 30.

With two members already discharged, the rest will also be relieved from their duties in 2025. The next to complete their service will be leader RM and Taehyung, aka V, who enlisted on the same day. The very next day, Jimin and Jungkook will be discharged, and finally, rapper SUGA will follow, with all members returning by June 2025. The group has stated they have numerous plans in store for ARMY, including new music and a possible world tour as well.
