BTS' V aka Kim Taehyung suffers rib fracture while working out in military; concerned fans pray for his 'safe return'
BTS V and RM are counting down days until their military discharge. The duo also shared heartfelt notes for fans in their latest Weverse notes. However, V's letter has particularly concerned fans as he revealed suffering a rib fracture while working out in the military.

BTS' V, aka Kim Taehyung, joined fellow member RM in counting down to their military discharge. The duo, who enlisted on December 11, 2023, will be discharged on June 10, 2025. ARMYs are ecstatic that the discharge days have entered double digits. In a celebratory note, V shared a heartfelt message with fans but also revealed suffering a rib injury, leaving his fans concerned.
BTS' V talks about his rib injury, insomnia, and more in new military update
On March 3rd, V shared a heartfelt update on his military service through the Weverse app, revealing that he's just 99 days away from discharge. As part of his update, V posted two photos¡ªone showing him in a military uniform, wearing a mask and holding chopsticks, and another with his face hidden, revealing only his short hair.
V's update also included a lengthy message where he opened up about his experiences during military training. He shared that he's been working out intensely, which led to him dislocating a rib, but thankfully, it's healed now. He also mentioned that he's earned the prestigious title of "Elite Warrior" due to his exceptional physical fitness, marksmanship, and combat skills.
Taehyung revealed that he does not have insomnia anymore and he passes out as soon as he goes to bed. "I don¡¯t have insomnia here. The moment I lie down, I¡¯m out cold. But waking up in the morning? Still can¡¯t get used to that," he added.
However, he expressed his longing to perform again, missing ARMY and watching concert videos to cope. "I miss ARMY a lot, so I¡¯ve been watching concert videos. I want to dance. I want to sing. One of my juniors learned the entire Black Swan choreography and asked me to watch. But¡I forgot the moves. I don¡¯t remember the choreography.
The Winter Ahead crooner also mentioned that he's been reading a lot, watching Wooga Squad member Park Hyung Sik's Buried Hearts and J-Hope appearance on I Live Alone. "These days, I watch Buried Hearts. Park Hyungsik is so cool. I also watched Jung Hoseok on I Live Alone," he said.
Taehyung also clarified that he didn't go to J-Hope's concert despite the rumours suggesting otherwise, writing, "Not being able to go to the concert is really disappointing. It was a chance to see ARMY."
He signed off with the words, "Uh, well anyway, I miss you! I love you!":
'Please stay safe': Concerned ARMYs share messages for Taehyung
Fans were both concerned and enraged after learning about V's rib fracture. One fan wrote, "My heart just made a crack sound because what do you mean Tae broke his ribs and only told us after he had recovered just so we wouldn't be worried?? That shit hurts like crazy, and all this while he was just simply coming to us without expressing his pain?"

Inspired by RM's poetic style, V deleted his previous post and penned his own lengthy note, sharing more details about his military life and experiences.
What did RM say in his military update?
BTS' RM shared a heartfelt and poetic letter with fans, reflecting on his military service and life. As translated by ARMY Cavite Fanbase, he described the changing seasons, from snow to warmer temperatures, and how it reminds him of the passing time.
RM also talked about how he's been reading The Art of Loving by Erich Fromm, which made him think about the concept of love and how it requires practice, commitment, and determination. He questioned why people expect to love without effort and how societal expectations can shape our understanding of love.
"In modern society, love has been portrayed as nothing more than intense emotions and dramatic moments by media and capitalism, but in truth, love requires solemn resolve, commitment, and determination," he wrote.
RM also shared his thoughts on music, relationships, and the importance of self-reflection. He mentioned that he has about three months left in his military service and is looking forward to returning to his fans with new music and stories to share.
"This place is like the Room of Spirit and Time¡ The gravity feels heavier as time goes on. Maybe it¡¯s because I have four bars now. Time is ridiculously slow, but they say the Ministry of National Defense clock keeps ticking, even if you hang it upside down. So I¡¯ll try hanging it upside down, spinning it around, tilting it 540 degrees¡ªwhatever it takes. I¡¯ll return with my love and my heart well reorganized. There are so many stories I want to tell you¡ªthrough music, through words," he added.
The letter ended with RM's promise to return with his love and heart "well-reorganized" and his encouragement to fans to live their best lives. He signed off with his signature phrase, "I love you, as always."
