People do all sorts of things to keep healthy and fit. Some go to the gym, some practice yoga and some... find other unique ways. Now, users on social media are not sure how to react after coming across a woman's post about 'perineum sunning'.
The practice is little known but the post is now viral. Meagan shared a photo of herself on Instagram trying several different asanas in the buff. In one photo she's also lying flat on her back on a big rock while in the great outdoors. In yet another picture, she has her legs in the air. All this, in order to get some morning sun in an area where, according to a saying, the sun usually doesn't shine.

According to the California resident, her day begins with exposing her perineum (don't Google it) under the sun for five minutes. She claims that doing that leaves her so energised that she does not need coffee anymore.
She also said that 'perineum sunning' has improved her sleep but told people not do it to 'tan your b***hole'. That is not the intention of this practice. The post was shared by a user on Twitter user with the caption, 'People out here butt-chugging sunlight'. And people, like for everything else, had something to say about this too.
One user commented, 'Can someone please pass on to me the study showing that 30 seconds of b***hole sunlight is equal to an entire day of non-b***hole sunlight? Is this what my cat has been studying its entire life?' Another said, 'I feel like this would negatively impact my relationship with my neighbours'. A third user commented, 'On the one hand that is the dippiest naked yoga practice I've ever seen.
Meagan, meanwhile, apparently even gained 8k new followers from said post. I mean you can't buy that kind of, um, exposure.

Meagan, who describes herself as a healer, also claims that 30 seconds of the ritual is 'the equivalent of a full day of sunlight with your clothes on.' And if you're looking to try this, one can apparently get the best results between the hours of 7am and 9am.
And guess what? Perineum sunning is the new trend. Twitter is full of influencers who are swearing by this practice.
¡°Another thing I like to do is give my vagina a little vitamin D."

Where I'm from that doesn't have anything to do with tanning. https://t.co/EQ7pEq2FXf
However, Dr Diana Gall from Doctor-4-U told Insider, "There is no evidence that sunbathing in this way has any effect on physical wellbeing. Yes, practicing mindfulness and meditation, and getting your dose of Vitamin D, is beneficial for mental and physical health, but you don't need to damage your skin in the process from sun exposure."
Well, one should carry out the practice at one's own discretion.
